Obituary of Harold Walker

Please share a memory of Harold to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Walker, Harold "Hal" Bernard - 58, of North Kingston, Kings County, passed away after a lengthy illness at his home on September 12, 2014. Born in Middleton he was a son of the late Melvin and Madeline (Reeves) Walker. Hal was a hard worker, a person who loved to work with his hands, sharing his expertise on how to fix or jury-rig "Walker" style, just about anything. He was a highly skilled builder, restorer, renovator who worked professionally at times for Standard Paving, Mid Valley Construction and was involved in the Annapolis Tidal Project. He was also in demand and contracted for his cement and carpentry work to build and raise homes and barns and known sometimes in his personal life to also "raise the roof". Hal loved racing "fast" anything- cars (particularly his restored Swinger which he took great pride in), motorcycles and snowmobiles that fortunately he also knew how to repair. His outbuildings were filled with tools and works in progress and he surrounded his home with gardens both vegetable and flower. He was a character with many sides and dimensions, practical but deeply sentimental saying straight out what was on his mind. Hal is survived by his beautiful and creative daughters, Nicole Latta, Kingston, Kings Co., and Michelle Latta (Billy Holland), Aylesford; their mother Alexia Latta; good friend, Colleen McInnis; brothers, Morris (Anne Pollett), Upper Granville and Randy (Kim), Bridgewater; sister, Renee Walker, Windsor; nieces and nephews, Dustin, Kyle and Rebecca Walker, Anthony and Sabrina Corradini; and his many friends who often dropped in for his "round table" chats. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Kaulbach Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Bridgetown. A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday September 16, 2014, in St. Mary's Anglican Church, Belleisle, with Rev. Joel Hardy officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Anglican Church Cemetery, Belleisle with a reception following at The Walker Family Farm in Upper Granville. Donations made in Hal's memory may be sent to CAPS of Annapolis County (he loved animals particularly his Yorkshire Terrier, Charlie) or to a charity of your choice. On line condolences may be made at www.kaulbachfamilyfuneralhome.com. Hal was a person about whom many stories and anecdotes will be told and he, himself would have said, "Too many projects, not enough time."
