Cecil Gordon Atkinson, age 91, of Round Hill, Annapolis County died Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at home in Round Hill. Cecil was born February 1, 1923 in Truro, Nova Scotia, he was the son of the late Cleveland E. and Georgia A (Bancroft) Atkinson. He was married to the late Priscilla Louise Moulaison. Cecil served in the military during World War II. Following the war he was employed by Nova Scotia Power Corporation and later as an Electrician. He was an avid sports fisherman and hunter, and loved the outdoors, square dancing and playing badminton. Cecil was a former Warden of St. Luke's Church and was a dedicated father and husband. He is survived by daughter, Cecile Atkinson (Calvin Johnston) of Round Hill, and sons, Gordon (Sharon) Atkinson of Annapolis Royal, John (Cindy) Atkinson of Shelburne; brother of sister, Eldora and brothers, Frances Atkinson, Hugh Atkinson, 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister Della Kathan and brothers Reginald and Cecil and a great grandchild. The Annapolis Royal Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion will hold their service 2:00 p.m. Monday at St. Luke's Anglican Church, Annapolis Royal followed by the funeral service with Rev. Paul Jennings officiating. Interment will be at a later date. Visiting hours will be Sunday, October 5, 2014 from 7-9 p.m. at Kaulbach Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 190 St. Anthony Street, Annapolis Royal, NS.
