Parker, Anne Redmond (Longmire) Anne was born in Bridgetown, N.S. on March 5, 1939, and died peacefully at home in Upper Granville on January 14, 2015. She was the youngest of three daughters of the late Ronald C. and Lillian (Buckler) Longmire of Bridgetown. A graduate of Bridgetown High School and the Victoria General Hospital School of Nursing Class of '60B, Anne was dedicated to her profession and to volunteering in her community. She was a loving mother and grandmother, an exceptional homemaker, and a longtime member of the Bridgetown rug hookers group. Anne is survived and will be very much missed by her husband of 51 years, Doug, of Upper Granville; daughter, Amy, Halifax; son, Michael (Sharon), Bridgetown; and beloved granddaughter, Rachael. She is also survived by her sisters, Frances Beattie, Berwick, and Nancy Yeadon, Halifax; sister-in-law, Nancy (Ernest) Dick, Granville Ferry; many nieces, nephews and cousins. The family extends heartfelt thanks to friends and family who provided unending love and support, food and comfort to us and to Anne. Thank you also to Dr. Caroline Hancock and staff of the Annapolis Collaborative Practice, the members of the VG Gyne-Oncology Unit, Dr. Lori Burgess and Janet Welton, RN, of Annapolis Valley Palliative Care, and the caring staff of the VON. In accordance with Anne's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral. Her body has been cremated. A "Remembering Annie Day" will be held at a later date for friends and family. In lieu of flowers, Anne's request was that donations in memory be made to the Annapolis Royal Historic Gardens, 441 St. George Street, Annapolis Royal, NS, B0S 1A0, Ovarian Cancer Canada, or a charity of your choice.
