Obituary of Cecil Alfred Harnish

Harnish, Cecil Alfred, 86 of Lequille, Annapolis Co. passed away February 18, 2015 at home. Born in Lequille he was a son of the late George Arnold and Marie Beatrice (Spurr) Harnish. Cecil was a man of honesty and a caring father and friend to his children and grandchildren and close friends. He was an avid reader of Westerns and loved the outdoors as well as hunting, fishing, playing cards and tell long stories of the past. He is survived by his children: Cecil Eugene (Mary) of Peterbourgh, Ont., Diane Marie ( John) Edwards of St. Catherines, Ont., Shirley Irene (Greg) Hannam of Granville Ferry, Sherman (Jeanette) of Lequille, Ellen Louise (Eric) Mailman of Lequille, Carol Elsie (Leigh) Freeman of Bear River, Richard Bruce of Greywood, 14 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren; sisters: Pauline Harnish of Bridgetown, Marjorie Gilliatt of Peterbourgh, Ont., Beatrice (Donald) Walker of Lequille. He was predeceased by his wife Elsie, daughter Elizabeth Ellen in infancy, grandsons George Harnish and Dwayne Riley. Visitation will be held Friday from 7-9 p.m. and funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday both from the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal with Canon Ken Vaughan officiating. Burial will be in St. Albans Cemetery, Lequille. Family flowers only. Donations in memory may be sent to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Nova Scotia Lung Association.
