Obituary of Charles Winfred Horton

Horton, Charles Winfred – 92, Bridgetown passed away Monday, March 9, 2015 in the Veterans Ward at Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Upper Granville, he was the son of the Ralph and Rhoda (Bent) Horton. For many years he worked at the Co-op in Bridgetown and Lawrencetown. After retiring Charlie was a farmer and a meat cutter. He enjoyed working with his horses and oxen. He is survived by his daughter, Paulette (David) Adler of Upper Granville; sons, John (Sherry) of Brickyard Road, Paul (Cheryl) of Avonport, Lee of Upper Granville; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; brothers, Grant of Kingston, Norman of Courtney, B.C.; sister, Norma of Bear River; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Esther Taylor; daughter, Juliette; brothers, John, Edwin, and Owen. Visitation will be held 7-9 pm, Friday March 13, with a funeral service being held 2 pm Saturday, both from the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Bridgetown with Rev. Gordon Delaney officiating. Burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery, Bridgetown. Family flowers only.
