Challenger, Glen Norman Age 82, of Bear River, Annapolis Co, passed away in peace on April 21, 2015, in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Glen was born February 6, 1933, in St. Kitts, B.W.I., the youngest son of the late Winnifred (Lake) and Percival Challenger. Glen immigrated to Toronto in 1951 and met the love of his life, Hildegard, from Germany; married 60 years. Glen had a proud 30-year career in the Canadian Armed Forces. Glen was a Peacekeeper in 1969, in Cyprus. He has a warm gentle island soul. He retired to the serenity of Bear River, in the family built home. He loved nature, recycling, fishing and boats. Glen had a passion for his tenor saxophone. Glen is survived by his wife, Hildegard (Wetzel); daughters, Simone (Gary) Towle, Linda (Jeff Barton); grandchildren, Christopher, Breanna; siblings, Oscar (Mary), Janice; sister-in-law, Margaret; nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his son, Kevin; brothers, Maurice, Basil and Terrance. Special thanks for the wonderful care of Dr. Kenneth Buchholz, Annapolis Royal and staff of fourth floor VG Site, QEII, Dr. Couban and Heather Lynch, RN. Memorial Service will take place May 15 at 2 p.m. in Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society and Fundy YMCA.
