She was formerly president of the Home and School Association, president of the New Horizons Group (The Fundy Dawn Club). She was secretary of Hampton Community Hall, a member of the sewing circle and secretary of Hampton Women’s Missionary Society. Helen was the last surviving member of her immediate family, being predeceased by her sister, Elsie MacDonald of Mt. Denson, and three brothers, Percy, Chester and Arnold, all of the Bridgetown area. Helen lived in her home in Hampton until 2007 when she went to Grace Haven Residential Care Home in Paradise. Her last year and a half was spent at Glasgow Hall, Parkland at the Lakes, Dartmouth. The family wishes to extend their thanks and appreciation to Donna Hatt, administrator, of Grace Haven and her staff and also to Glasgow Hall staff for the excellent care given to our mother.
