CAINES, Cyril Emmanuel passed away on September 12, 2015 at the age of 91 at the Annapolis Royal Nursing Home, in Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia. Cyril was born on June 9, 1924 in Burgeo, Newfoundland, son of Emmanuel and Sarah Caines. He proudly served with the Merchant Navy during the Second World War and later served in the Canadian Armed Forces. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Mary (Anderson); his sons, George (Eileen Webb) and John (Darlene Sullivan); his brother, Milton and sister Dulcie, grandchildren, Michael, Tara, Emilie, Melanie , Matthew, Patrick and Kathleen and great-grandchildren, Kaila, Kacey, Jackson, Aiden and Nicholas. Cyril became an accomplished photographer and painter and won several awards at art shows in the Annapolis Valley. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the devoted and caring staff of the Annapolis Royal Nursing Home for their loving and exceptional care. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service. A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, October 24, from the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal with Rev. Juanita Barteaux officiating.
