Longmire, Betty Leona 1941-2015 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dearly loved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and friend. Betty passed away suddenly at home with her husband of 56 years, (Robert “Bobby” Allen Longmire) by her side. Born April 13th 1941 in Lockwood, Saskatchewan to Mildred Kathleen Marshall (Balcomb) and Alfred Marshall. Following the death of her father, Betty would spend most of her early years living with her Grandparents, Leona and Harry Ruggles in Upper Clements. At the age of 18 on October 10th 1959, Betty would marry the man with whom she would share the rest of her life. Together they would raise and love six children; Barbara Joy (Andy) Amirault of Cole Harbour Dartmouth, Sylvia Leona (Rocklyn) Longmire of Hillsburn, Alan Clinton (Patty) Longmire of Litchfield, Mona Kathleen (Raymond) McEachern of Gander NFLD, Trevor Boyd (Shelley) Longmire of Litchfield and Patrick Allen (Jackie) Longmire of Kingston ,Ontario. Other than her children and husband Betty is survived by brothers Ross (Betty) Marshall of Upper Clements, David (Karlene) Thompson of Andouver Massachusetts and sister Shirley (Balcomb) Guest of Young’s Cove. She was predeceased by mother Mildred Kathleen (Ruggles Marshall) Balcomb and father Alfred Marshall. Brother Reginald “Reggie” Balcomb. Betty was a member of the Hillsburn Baptist church where she was an Awana (sparks) leader for many years. In her later years she became a member of the Parker’s Cove Baptist church. She was an active member of the WMS (Women’s Missionary Society). Betty loved her Lord and saviour Jesus Christ so it is with our creator we leave her until we can join her in heaven someday.
