Obituary of Sharon Ruth Norton

Please share a memory of Sharon to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Sharon Ruth Norton

Sharon Ruth Norton went from her home here on earth to her home in Heaven on April 6th after an eight month battle with brain cancer.

She was born in Hamilton, Ontario to the late William and Miriam Cuthill.  She married Elford Norton in 1971.  She was a prayer warrior, a woman of great determination and quick wit and a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister.

She leaves behind her husband and best friend, Elford; three sons William (Michelle) of Townsend, ON; Joseph (Betty) of Morganville, NS; Thomas (Kerrie-Lyn) of Hagersville, ON.  Grandchildren: Jessica, Kyle, Ashley, Kayla and Ariyonna and two great grandchildren and special friends, Jon, Jessica, Wyatt and Graciana.  She was also survived by one brother, Bill, and four sisters Joan, Lillian, Cathy and Darlene.

She was reunited in Heaven with her parents and her brother, Bob.

Her life over the last months was lived with peace due to the personal relationship she had with Jesus Christ.  She accepted the Lord as her Saviour when she was 12 years old.  This decision shaped and guided the rest of her life.

Thank you to the VON who brought so much joy and sunshine to each day, especially Carrie who served her so well.  Thank you to Kirk and the staff at Pharmasave for their kindness.  Thank you to her church family, Amazing Grace Baptist Church, for caring for Sharon in her home over the last few months.  A special thank you to Dr. Silver who went above and beyond her duty to provide Sharon with the best care possible.  The family wishes to thank Jon and Jessica who took care of Sharon over the last eight months and were like family to her.

Visitation will be held at Kaulbach Family Funeral Home in Bridgetown, Tuesday, April 9th from 7-9 pm.  The funeral will be held at Amazing Grace Baptist Church in Bridgetown with Pastor Brandon Lake officiating on Wednesday, April 10th at 1 pm. Burial will follow in North Kingston Cemetery.

Donations in Sharon’s memory can be made to ElBethel Bible Camp, West Dalhousie, a place that was dear to Sharon’s heart.
